The ACGME, a branch of American Medical Association in Chicago, contracted Gigabit LLC to design and develop PocketCases. PocketCases allows medical students to track each procedure performed during their residency. To satisfy the requirements of their specialty, each medical intern must complete a minimum set of corresponding procedures. Procedures are logged through PocketCases from US & foreign based residency programs and submitted via web services to ACGME in Chicago. Before PocketCases, students were stuck with entering new procedures over an internet browser. PocketCases allows them more freedom to make their rounds and enter items on the go in a setting where cell phones must be offline.
